Even with the drop in temperature you are motivated to do outdoor sports? You will need the right equipment for a comfortable and effective workout. Stylight gives you 3 tips to dress properly if you do sports outside in winter!
The three-layer rule
To properly protect your upper body and avoid getting sick, you should dress in three layers:
The layer closest to the body should be thin, absorb sweat (so avoid cotton) and rather tight.
The second layer is the one that will keep you warm. Opt for technical materials that you can find in sports stores but avoid fleece which, contrary to popular belief, keeps water from sweat and therefore makes you cold.
The third layer protects above all from rain and wind but should not be heavy or warm because the first two are already warm.
Lightness for the bottom: finding the right leggings
If you're running or biking, your lower limbs will warm up and work the fastest. So be careful not to wear clothes that are too warm. Leggings are often sufficient. But if it rains, consider getting waterproof pants to wear over them!
